activities and things to do here that have been bringing
people to the area for years and years. From waterfalls
to hiking trails, skiing to golf, there is something for
everyone to enjoy.
In Linville
Falls NC there are many Western North Carolina attractions and places to
stay while visiting the mountains. Linville Falls is one of the nearby favorites
many people frequent. There are hiking trails ranging
from moderate to strenuous with incredible views of the
mountains and the Linville River. Linville Caverns is a
natural limestone cavern beneath Humpback Mountain. The
Linville Caverns are the only natural caverns in the
state of North Carolina, and it is a perfect attraction
for small to large groups. They offer group tours that
lead you through the different rooms of the caverns. Be
sure to bring a jacket when visiting the caverns, it is
cold and sometimes wet inside some of the rooms. The
Linville Gorge wilderness area is a natural, outdoor
playground for outdoor enthusiasts to enjoy. The
Linville River runs along parts of the trail providing a
place to cool off. You can enjoy a day of hiking or
climbing that will give you a sense of accomplishment
when finished. Be sure to stop by the historical
Louise’s Rock House Restaurant when finished with your
activities to refuel with a good ol' country cooked

Grandfather Mountain, Western North Carolina's most popular
attraction, is only 12 miles away from A White Christmas
Tree Farm. It is home to the mile high swinging bridge
that overlooks mountains in North Carolina, Georgia,
Virginia, and Tennessee. They also have several hiking
trails, a history museum, store and a wildlife
habitation that is home to many animals including black
bears and cougars. Grandfather Mountain is a full day
event that is fun for adults and children alike.
In the winter months, the High Country of North Carolina
is a winter wonderland. Many people choose to partake in
the winter activities the snow in the region makes
possible. Close to A White Christmas Tree Farm are two
snow tubing locations - Jonas Ridge and Altamont. Snow
tubing has been called sledding for the new millennium,
as it allows for faster speeds and eliminates the hike
to the top of the hill. It is a safe and fun way to
enjoy the snowy winters. Stop by the privately owned
Loaves and Fishes for a delicious made from scratch meal
that will definitely fill you up. They even offer their
dishes frozen so you can take them home with you and
enjoy them later. At the end of the day you can check
into the Park View Motor Lodge for a relaxing night's
